Load in day at Infineon & Team Jesus!

While there was no track activity today, everyone was busy setting up the pits, getting tires mounted, etc. This gave me a lot of time to talk with many of the guys in the garage area. The one common thread was there are a lot of hurting, worried, tired, and burdened guys in the IRL community. Please pray for these crew members that are hurting. Some have a relationship with the Lord and others just need Jesus. All were reaching out.......

Also, special thanks to "Team Jesus"! (http://team-jesus-motorsports.com/) They are a Top Fuel drag race team that is also heavily involved in motorsports ministry at this track. They have a love for Christ that is motivating! They provided the camper for Bob to stay in at the track this weekend, a golf cart for our use at the track, and they will be distributing the food excess from this weekends race to local homeless shelters.

My Racing History

I started working part time in 1999 with Hemelgarn Racing by helping at the Indianapolis 500. I was part of the IRL team at Hemelgarn when they won the championship title in 2000. I have worked part time with various other teams including Panther Racing, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, Racing Professionals, and Vision Racing. My main responsibilities have included pit setup and tire management. The past couple of years, along with tire management, I went over the wall as the fueler for Ed Carpenter and the jack man for Jeff Bucknum, John Herb, and Davey Hamilton. Other drivers I have worked with include Johnny Unser, Buddy Lazier, Richie Hearn, and Josh Wise.

Future INDYCAR Ministry Vision

- Reach out to team members by providing Bible studies at the race shops on a regular basis.

- Establish relationships with leaders in churches located in the vicinity of all tracks on the INDYCAR schedule.

- Use show car and use existing Indy Car simulators to promote the INDYCAR Ministry.

- Obtain funding for INDYCAR Ministry transporter to be used at local area churches and tracks to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The transporter features would include room to haul show car and simulators. It would have a stage and an outdoor sound system for Christian music and driver interviews. The transporter may have a portable high definition big screen for Christian and racing media promotion.

INDYCAR Ministry Purpose Statement

The INDYCAR Ministry is a 501c3 not-for-profit, non-denominational Christian organization, which was developed to pastor the racing community. We will achieve this by attending racing venues, by being available for counsel and encouragement and by providing for the spiritual and emotional needs of this community. We will strive to be consistent in our approach and creative in our witness. Our overall objective is to see lives changed, spiritual relationships strengthened, and to bring honor and glory to the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
