We need you back on our side......

While working on the Buddy Lazier car, one of our safety guys came up to me during practice and said, "be careful out here, we need you back on our side (with the IRL Ministry)". I thanked him for the neat comment and prayed with him there for his safety and protection..... Neat stuff....

My Racing History

I started working part time in 1999 with Hemelgarn Racing by helping at the Indianapolis 500. I was part of the IRL team at Hemelgarn when they won the championship title in 2000. I have worked part time with various other teams including Panther Racing, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, Racing Professionals, and Vision Racing. My main responsibilities have included pit setup and tire management. The past couple of years, along with tire management, I went over the wall as the fueler for Ed Carpenter and the jack man for Jeff Bucknum, John Herb, and Davey Hamilton. Other drivers I have worked with include Johnny Unser, Buddy Lazier, Richie Hearn, and Josh Wise.

Future INDYCAR Ministry Vision

- Reach out to team members by providing Bible studies at the race shops on a regular basis.

- Establish relationships with leaders in churches located in the vicinity of all tracks on the INDYCAR schedule.

- Use show car and use existing Indy Car simulators to promote the INDYCAR Ministry.

- Obtain funding for INDYCAR Ministry transporter to be used at local area churches and tracks to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The transporter features would include room to haul show car and simulators. It would have a stage and an outdoor sound system for Christian music and driver interviews. The transporter may have a portable high definition big screen for Christian and racing media promotion.

INDYCAR Ministry Purpose Statement

The INDYCAR Ministry is a 501c3 not-for-profit, non-denominational Christian organization, which was developed to pastor the racing community. We will achieve this by attending racing venues, by being available for counsel and encouragement and by providing for the spiritual and emotional needs of this community. We will strive to be consistent in our approach and creative in our witness. Our overall objective is to see lives changed, spiritual relationships strengthened, and to bring honor and glory to the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
